How do I become a paid book reviewer?

Question by Missy: How do I become a paid book reviewer?
I am 17 and I am wondering how I could become a paid book reviewer. Does anyone know any good places to look into that?
I am sorry Arand but the link is dead. Thank you for trying though!

I don’t think there is an easy way. You’d need a newspaper, magazine or website that was looking to hire you. Otherwise, you can review on your own blog or amazon or squidoo and try to use those avenues as well as other available websites that are open to anyone.

Or you could look into going into publishing. You’d need education for that and I’d suggest looking at the career spot on any publishers’ websites for that info. Which isn’t reviewing so not really what I should be blathering about. Sorry.

I’ve always wanted to get paid to read, but the closest I’ve come is to work as a Night Auditor at a hotel. My boss doesn’t care if I read and so I get paid to do about one hour of work and seven of reading. It would be and excellent job if you need to work your way through college by the way. Pay’s not great but all that time to study would be :)

But it would be cool if you did get hired by someone to do book reviews, though. Good Luck!

Go to college and major in English with an emphasis on literature or journalism or something like that. Then, you have to be a good writer with impeccable taste. Good luck!
